Intoductory mead of our sub-brand Mead Scientist.

Hydromel with Raspberries, Yuzu and Mango.

For a hydromel you are looking at a medium strength (6-7 %) fruity sweet mead. We think it can be a real relief after all the regular crazy beer styles. It is also a lot of fun for us to learn a new thing.

Can, 0.44l. Murky orange/red pour, no head. Fruity on the nose, tropical, notes of mango. Very subtle citrus sour notes combined with honey. Medium body, soft carbonation. Average mouthfeel and texture, smooth and chewy, easily drinkable. Taste is combination of honey sweetness and juicy sour notes. Tropical juicy aroma. Honey, grass, citruses and mango. Sweet aftertaste, slightly sugary. Sticky. Interesting combination of flavors but seems a bit all over the place, somewhat unbalanced. Short to medium lasting finish, sweet. Not bad but I kinda expected a bit more.

Can via Beermalade, last of a bunch of 4 or so meads in my last order. This is the only one i really like. Sweet, but not overly so, with very light background sourness. Med-light fruity character, good balance with itself and with med-light waxy honey character. Raspberry mango yuzu combo works very well. Easy drinking, very good.
