Panda at home, thanks to Fergus, 17/12/22. Extremely dark mahogany brown with a good sized beige cap. Nose is tarte fruit esters, vinous, fruit balsams, cherry skins, funk. Taste comprises dusty fruits, funk, vinous, cherry skins, earthy, acidic kiss, dusty oak, mellow barrel. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, drying close with a good puckering kiss. Decent ... maybe best panda aged?

Bottle at home picked up from Dekoninck a few years back. A reddish brown coloured pour with a fading light tan head. Aroma is punchy sour lacto, earthy roasted malts, green apple, sour berries, prunes, vanilla, dusty leather. Flavour is composed of super sour bitter lemon, pithy, sour green apple, lacto, some barrel, whisky booze, earthy roast, Palate is super sharp, puckering sour, woody tannin, highish carbonation. Complex but a bit too acidic for me. Linger tangy red berries,

Tap at FOB, Rimini, Italy. Pours black with moderate very fine brown foam. Aroma is delicate funky, acetic. Very intense when just poured. Body is average, with moderate carbonation. Some astringency. Taste is medium-high sour, a little sapid. Final is pretty short, though abrupt.

330ml bottle. Opaque, dark brown colour with small, frothy, fading, beige head. Lactic, vinous, slightly roasty, dark malty aroma, notes of dark chocolate, blue grapes, hints of plum, yeasty spicy overtones, a touch of sauerkraut. Taste is tart, dry, slightly woody, vinous fruity, notes of blue grapes, blackcurrant, a touch of unripe plum, hints of dark chocolate, yeasty spicy overtones. Watery texture, minimally astringent palate, lingering, tart finish, an acidic film remains on lips and teeth.

Prost!

Tap at Foeders. Almost black with beige head. Light whisky, dry roasted notes, sour blackberries, peat, smoke, earthy, red currants, ash. Light sweet and bitter and almost medium sour. Under medium bodied. I’m not usually a fan of sour orated stouts, but this is pretty enjoyable!
