*Old rating. Best before 25.08.05.

12oz bottle. Deep brown-red color, with big, foamy, beige head. Eastern Euro pungent caramel chocolate aroma, with some milky chocolate tones as well. Straightforward and enjoyable enough. Doughy, watery mouthfeel. No bittering balance to speak of, true to style I suppose. Smooth, malty chocolate finish. A interesting beer to try, not exactly world class.

Bottle. Pours a dark, brown-red with a foamy beige head. Nose of bread and lightly toasted malts. Flavor is mild blend of chocolate, caramel and some fruit. Some earthy character. Light to medium in body and well carbonated. Finish is sweet, roasty and a bit metallic.

Bottled. A deep red beer with a thin lazing tan head. The aroma has notes of caramel, bread, and malt. The flavor is sweet notes of caramel, bread, and malt, as well as light notes of metal, leading to a dry lightly metallic finish. Thanks yespr for sharing.

Pour is a black with a large tan head. Aroma is filled with caramel malts with a nice roasted quality to it. Flavor is some chocolate with a bit of a nutty aftertaste. Leaves a little coffee on the tounge after the swallow. This is a soild schwartz with lots of flavor profile for a German beer

The bottle looks simple, but good. The beer in the glass is not really black, deep brown, small head. Starts really mild, modest roasty-smoky, fine malty. Finish still mild, soft like velvet, very drinkable. Good schwarzbier!

Bottle @ Zeke’s
Dark brown with a thick head. Sweet, caramelly and malta-like nose. Light body. Quite toasty. Vague nutshell character. Fairly dry finish. OK schwarz.

Test vom 28.11.2005, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 7,10,13,10,9,10 - 10,10
