A truly unique premium lager beer produced from 100% pure malt and aged to perfection more than any other beer in the market. Deep golden in color, when poured, tiny bubbles rush to the top forming its thick and creamy white head. The well-balanced body and slightly pronounced grain flavor give Castel Beer a robust taste, making it ideal for the most discerning of consumers.

Clear, golden colored, medium white frothy head, OK lasting. Aroma is of malt, caramel, some corn, bit strawy hops. Taste is medium sweet malt, caramel, corn, medium- strawy-grassy bitterness, bit cardboard. Medium bodied, soft carbonation. More caramel flavor than most other Ethiopian lagers. (bottle)

330 ml. bottle @ Little Ethiopia during Enkutatash apparently first day of Ethiopian New Year. I quite liked the food but this is just your average African Pale Lager. Clear orange with little head. Nose is sweet oily & syrupy corn and sugar, faint vegetables, far too sweet. Taste is sweet oily corn & candy, metallic, poor far too sweet nasty oily corn, sugar, quite tiresome after a while. Body is far too oily, sweet, soft carbonation.

Also not bad, but not as good as Hebesha or Harar. So many choices in Ethiopia and they’re all the same...

Bottle beer from Beers of Europe. Piwo bez etykiety z owijka na szyjce. Brak informacji o zawartosci alkoholu itp.

Bottle shared at a tasting at Ariel’s place. Thanks Mom for this bottle! Clear golden with a white head. Aroma of grains, a bit of hay and a faint grassy hint. Sweetish grainy flavor with a papery hint and faint bitterness in the finish. Light-bodied. Pretty non-offensive and drinkable.

Pours a light brown color, topped with small white head. Malty aroma, lots of grassy notes and slightly skunky. Taste is sweet, with again lots of grassy notes. Not nice. I don’t know if it’s gone bad, or just is bad.

33cl Bottle from an Ethiopian shop. Clear golden colour, white head. Aroma of some sweet malts, just light floral, light skunky, paper. Flavour is medium sweet, light malty, hint of sourness, paper, light dryness. Light bodied. Not the worst lager, expected less.

Sampled from an 11.2 oz brown bottle this beer poured a dark golden amber color with a huge creamy white head that lingered forever and left good lacing. The aroma was sweetish and tangy with notes of sour marsh and citrus. The flavor was tangy and sweet bread, sour mash and a hint of honey and citrus. Medium length tangy and sweet beady finish. Medium body. Blah.
