Das Dunkle ist ein fruchtiges Bier mit einem leichten Karamell-Aroma. Das in Anlehnungan das Düsseldorfer Alt gebraute obergärige Bier hält sich in der Bittere mit einer feinen Hopfennote etwas mehr zurück. Gebraut wird das Dunkle nach althergebrachtem Brauverfahren mit einer Dekoktion. Die verschiedenen Pilsnermalz- und Karamellmalzsorten gebendem Bier seine leuchtende Kupferfarbe.

A classical dunkeles, not bad and a true friend on the Bavarian tradition, rather smooth, a bit watery, malty, little side smocked and sweet, giving a discreet burnt note, classical touch of hop at the final. 11.05.2021, drinking it at Bonfol, sunny weather, perfect on the terrace

Tap @ Hermann Bier Brauerei & Lokal, St Gallen, after a trip to the Beer Bottle Museum in the city. Amber-red with a head. Soft-watered and pleasant supping brew, not feeling its strength. Ordinary lager nose. Sold as Dunkles Lager at 5.2%, but can't find any evidence of that being a different beer to this listing.

Appearance: Very pale amber, slight haze. Some off-white head. Aroma: Pale malt, some caramel. Taste: Good malt, some hops. Grain? Bread. Some caramel sweetness. Interesting. Bought: BrüW - Brewpub, 100 ml tap, CHF 2.50 Info: 5/3-2022

Pours clear amber with a light beige head. Malty, bready nose. Taste is malt, bread, caramel. Watery finish.

Wässriger, leicht oxidiert bitterer Malzantrunk. Laff bleibend, kaum würzig. Wässrig röstiger Nachhall. 8/7/7/5/5/6

Flip top bottle
Beer #4400. Hazy amber color, big cloudy off-white head. Mouldy barnyard (=BS) aroma. Medium-bodied. Very hoppy with earthyness and caramelly malty notes. Long bitter aftertaste. Aroma is awful, flavor is a bit better, but strange beer.

bottled (thanks Bov!). Slightly hazy amber colour with huge off-white head. Aroma is cooked peas, earth, some rubber and cooked vegetables. Flavour is quite the same with some notes of red berries and flowery hops. Otherwise quite nice, but I hate peas...
