Stayed at the brewpub (above the Ice Cream Parlour) on 1st Aug 2018 and tried all four of their beers on tap that evening. Lost/found the tasting notes while tidying the house during the virus lockdown on 11th Apr 2020, so added this for my own reference rather than for others to take note of: This was the clearest of their four beers and most likely my favourite, still had a slight haze though. Brown with a beige head it was fairly sweet and mildly herbal in flavour, good malty base with a caramel leaning.

Burgbräu Dunkel, Flasche vom Burgbräuhaus in Belzig. - Dunkelrotbraun, leicht trüb. - In der Nase warmes dunkles Malz, Brotkruste, milde zitronige Herbe und störende ranzig-hefige Noten. - Antrunk warm dunkelmalzig mit Brotkruste und Kakaobittere. Leichte, mild aber frisch zitrusfruchtige Herbe. Nur zarte Restsüße. Deutliche Fehlaromen von (gealterter?) Hefe. Mild rezent, trocken. Im Abgang milde Hopfenherbe. - Schön frisches, kerniges Dunkles, beeinträchtigt durch hefig-ranzige Fehlaromen.

Draught at the bar. Clean brown with a full head. Sweet malty aroma. Flavour is nutty malt, sweet caramel finish.

Malzig herber, mild schokoladiger Antrunk. Mild aber steigend würzig, geringe Bitterkeit. Trocken werdend, die Schokoladigkeit bleibt rund. Mittellanger Nachhall, leider zu trocken. Nett. 12/9/10/9//9
