25/X/25 - 33cl bottle, bought and shared @ kelderschatten tasting by Gentse Biervereniging (Baracuna), BB: IX/2018 (2025-1071)
Calendar dark brown to black beer, big creamy irregular beige head, stable, a bit adhesive, leaving some lacing in the glass. Aroma: nice, good roast, a bit fruity, cherries, sweet impression, chocolate, caramel, some bubble gum. MF: ok carbon, medium to full body. Taste: nice, good deep roast, pretty bitter, some alcohol. Aftertaste: pretty dry, a bit oxidized, earthy, chocolate notes, a little bitter, pleasant, more alcohol, good one! This beer had held up fantastically, as it’s 9 years old already!

25 October 2025. At “Gentse Biervereniging Kelderschatten” (Baracuna). Cheers to the whole crew!
Dried fig, date, prune, brandy, mocha, aniseed, liquorice. Sweetish raisin, fig & prune; spicy liquorice, bitter mocha. Peppery & earthy hops, toast, dried fruits, warming liqueur-like alcohol. Medium to full body, oily texture, average carbonation. Quite spicy, 'Belgian' Imperial Stout, but worthwhile.

Not bad, but not very good either. Fairly metallic, bit of dark fruit.. blackberries? Thin, bitter, roasted and plenty of coffee. Doesn't really distinguish itself amongst other average imperial stouts. Needs to be thicker, richer and creamier.
