High-grade Belgian-style beer, the Schandaal! is a quadrupel produced in collaboration with the Extraomnes brewery and brewed using large quantities of speculoos biscuits. Its color reminds of a monk’s tunic, with a decidedly malty structure, develops hints of caramel and cinnamon, while in the mouth releases taste of plum, dried fruit and biscuit.

Deep amber brown, good but short lasting frothy tan head, good lacing. Aroma roasted malt, coca cola, speculoos, alcohol. Taste light heavy sweet and light bitter, malty, speculoos, toffee, candy sugar, alcohol. Full-bodied, sticky texture, soft carbonation, sweetbitter aftertaste, some chocolate, candy sugar, alcohol, interesting brew, not bad but not my thing.

Can: Poured a reddish brown with light brown head. Aroma is dark fruits. Taste is figs, raisin, sweet malts.

Danke an daniele. Starker alkoholischer Beginn nach Spekulatius. Weich, etwas Karamell, geringe Karbonisierung. Bitter alkoholischer Abgang. Okay. 9/9/10/9//9

Draft at FOB, Rimini, Italy. Pours dark reddish brown with moderate but persistent foam. Aroma is liquor-like, licorice, candy sugar, caramel. Body is dense with average carbonation. Taste is very intensely sweet, but maybe with some acetic in the background. Finish is long.
