Bottle. Darkest brown, dark brown creamy head. Dust, ash, wood, salty roast. Medium body, dry salty, iodine, wood, umami, dry chocolate, cigar ash. Salty dry stout finish. Rum notes retronasal. Actually strangely quite refreshing and enjoyable.

Bottle. Dark brown color with beige head. Aroma is mild ash, some soy sauce, earthy. Taste is rum, dry wood, umami, quite dry finish, some iodine. Velvety mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Really quite drinkable, just almost too boring for the style.

330ml bottle. Jet black colour with minimally late awakening, small creamy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, tan head. Roasty, chocolately, dark malty, slightly caramel malty, BA supported aroma, notes of rum, hints of dark chocolate, some liquorice. Taste is roasty, spicy, dark malty, notes of liquorice, some rum, a touch of molasses, nutty undertones, a dry, woody touch as well; slightly warming, alcoholic finish. Creamy texture, smooth and soft, minimally cloying, simultaneously minimally dry palate, fine and soft carbonation. A bit unbalanced, disharmonious, edgy, not overly complex - quite far behind in this sophisticated, outbid style.

Virtually black with a creamy, light brown head that lingers. There’s rum in the aroma, oak too, but also something acidic. Strangely enough, the first thought that flashed into my mind was bug poison. That impression, mercifully, faded to a mix of vanilla, oak and barrel. Lovely taste, a nice mix of dark chocolate bitterness and (mild) confectionery sweetness. There’s a subtle fruity tartness that plays out at the end. It may be an impy, but points too for not being a heavy, sloppy, additive-ladened bomb. The body only reaches medium, carbonation is mild, and there’s a velvety smoothness going down. Stumbles at the start, but still nice.

Mein letztes Bier aus einer Bestellung vom biermarket.de, das 2019 gebraut wurde und eigentlich noch bis 2029 gehalten hätte. Das Etikett mit dem 60er-Jahre--Raumfahrer auf dem fremden Planeten gefällt mir schon einmal ganz gut, aber frisch aus dem Kühlschrank dachte ich nur: Mein Gott, ist das grauslich!. Nachdem es aber etwas wärmer wure, entfalteten sich die Aromen -und derer gibt es einge und diese sind wahlrich interessant. Auf der einen Seite hat man die fruchtigen Noten nach Rosinen und anderen Trockenfrüchten und auf der anderen Seite kommen die trockenen Dunkelschoko- und Kakaonoten. Das ist schön durch die Kaffeenoten verknüpft, was ein brauchbares Gesamtbild ergeben. Ein sehr schwieriges Getränk, das aber auch deutlich holzige Rumfassnoten hat, die man mögen muss. Aufgrund der Komplexität wird es nicht viele Freune finden, aber dem einen oder anderen Aromenliebhaber, dem das holzige nicht stört, wid seine Freude damit haben.

@Mainz 2019. Nice roasted parts. the rum barrel is there, roasted with a nice intense maltiness. Grain, caramel, dry roast. Nice.

Sampled @ Craft Bier Messe Mainz 2019. A black beer with a beige head. Aroma of caramelized malt, dark mild sourish fruits,liquorice. Taste of dark moderate roasted malt, liquorice, Red fruits, wood.
