The ’black hand’, with a thick and moussy, sticky head and very dark mahogany colour, practically black. Aroma of toffee, coffee grounds, candied dates, old ’jenever’, dried plums, raisins, figs, caramel and - unfortunately - some red cabbage (DMS). Some dark fruits in the mouth on a thick chocolatey and nutty malt base, gin-like warming alcohol and a frim peppery hop bitterness in the finish, long and dry. Not bad at all but I preferred their Podge.

Black with lots of sediment from the bottle. Quite a funky aroma. Some vegetables, light tartness. Texture is quite thick and oily. Initial tartness, then earthy. Background of dark malts and liquorice.

0.33l bottle shared with The Tasting Crew. Yeah, a slow gusher that want's out of the bottle. Looks nice in the glass with a big frothy lacing brown top under a deep dark brown body absolutely filled with tons of sediments and floaters. Smells nice. Light licorice and roasted touches. I get a little bit of coffee acidity and dusty cellar. Not to extreme but actually quite fair. It tastes quite good actually this. It's loaded with woody barreled tannin's and red wine. It's not to affected by the gushing when having it in the mouth as it has a mild oily mouthffeel and a just below average bubble level. Dry cocoa darkness with a quite interesting acidity finishing this one off. Yeah, it's quite a interesting one this. Lots of flavor. 15.01.2014

Bortimot svart i fargen med masse brunt skum. Ved åpning av flasken sprutet det slik en ristet champagneflaske gjør. Så karboneringen var det ikke noe i veien med. Lukter godt kaffe og også noe fruktig. Sødme og kaffe kommer også fram i smaken. Bitter lang ettersmak.

@Borefts. Wunderschönes schwarzes Bier mit schöner braunen Schaumkrone. Geruch intensiv röstmalzig, Kaffe, Bitterschokolade, verbrannte Erde. Es schmeckt intensiv nach geröstetem Kaffe, dunkler Schokolade, Teer. Sehr gut!

Bouteille 33cl about 2 yo, damn yet another huge gusher, and over 1/2 of the beer in the sink. My score could be higher, but the gushing just ruins my experience, and it’s far from being the first time with Alvinne. Brune foncée, col léger beige. Arôme est renforcé au niveau des malts, tirant sur du grillé, caramel, léger en fruité noir et tjrs ces effluves de levure Morpheus. Palais reste malté, grillé, caramel, assez épais avec un résiduel sucre candy et une petite note aigrelette en toute fin de bouche. Pointe de grillé rappelant un léger café et ponctué par une once de chocolaté. Malheureusement pour ce stout impérial, le côté levure Morpheus tend à ajouter un léger profil suret qui bien que fonctionnant avec certaines bières l’ets un peu moins avec des bières de ce type.
