Brewed as a special version for Pressklubben in 2019, the new recipe turned out so successful that the brewery decided to stick with this new version.

[10/19/13] Draught at Eurhop Beer Festival 2013 in Rome. Black with a nice creamy tann head. Funky aroma with lots of olives, some dark chocolate, dark fruits notes and some roastiness. Sourish roasty flavor, funky, with some fruity notes, dark chocolate and some coffee. Full-bodied. Very nice and interesting.

2/IX/13 - 33cl bottle @ home - BB: I/2014 (2013-823)

slow gusher!
Clear dark brown beer, big head, little stable, non adhesive. Aroma: pretty sourish, earthy, some tobacco, dried prunes, red wine vinegar, balsamic, lactobacillus. MF: lots of carbon, medium body. Taste: chocolate, mocha, pretty sour, caramel, coffee, earthy, tobacco, clearly infected, but the beer still stands. I guess a 10% stout can have some sourness, I actually even like it. Aftertaste: still sourish, little bitter, mocha, coffee, red berries, yeast, bread, overripe banana, dried fruits.

Draught @ Haand Ølfestival 2013
Pours pitch black with a tan head. Aroma has notes of roasted malt, licorice, chocolate and alcohol. Taste is medium to heavy sweet and light to medium bitter with a long roasted and licorice finish. Body is full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

Bottle. A real gusher. Pours pitch black, with an enormous, seemingly ever evolving mocha head. Aroma is quite funky with yeast and coffee, as well as some nice sweet whiffs of chocolate. Not your everyday dark brew. Body is full, with soft carbonation. Flavour is sweet with roasted malts and chocolate, and as it lingers on nice notes of leather, tobacco and vanilla comes forth. A pleasant surprise!

33cl bottle from Vinmonopolet, Vika. Pours black with some sediments and a light brown head. Gusher - didn’t manage to get all of it in glasses, some went in the sink. Roasty aroma with yeast and notes of chocolate, coffee and dark fruits/berries. Surprisingly light body and quite easy to drink too. Well integrated alcohol. Moderate sweet with a roasty and slightly dry finish. Nice lightly bitter aftertaste. (2013-03-30)

330 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 10%, 59 EBU. Hops are Magnum and EK Goldings. A slow gusher, thanks to other raters for the warning, which saved my keyboard. Pitch black colour, huge tan head. Acidic and fruity aroma, notes of farmhouse and red wine vinegar, some roasty coffee notes in the background. Notes of leather as the beer warms up. Plenty of carbonation in the mouth. Roasty and moderately fruity flavour, coffee and liquorice notes, hints of oak and mild spices. Medium bitter finish.

Appearance: Cloudy dark brown color with a tan head. A gusher. Over carbonated?
Aroma: Slightly sweet, chocolate and yeast.
Palate: Medium body. Slightly sweet, a bit sour and a light bitterness. Rich carbonation.
Taste: Chocolate, dark malt and a bit vinous. Some fruity notes. Well hidden alcohol.
Overall impression: An unusual Imperial Stout. Fresh and easy drinkable.
Personal stats: Bottle from Vinmonopolet Vika in Oslo, Norway
