Polish barleywine in the American substyle, bottle shared by Craftmember, cheers! Thick and creamy, lacing, egg-white head, hazy coppery deep amber robe. Aroma of yellow grapefruit peel, wormwood leaves, dried apricot, bitter dried garden herbs, lemon zest, old biscuit, pink pepper, persimmon, whisky, crackers. Sweet onset with yellow raisin and candied orange peel impressions, some persimmon and light unripe banana, subtle sourish note, lightly prickly carbonation, vinous and full, bit resinous mouthfeel. Powdery and bit ‘crusty’ malt sweet base quickly dried by a very strong, tonic water-like, grapefruity, astringent hop bitterness, very peppery with the pepperiness accentuated by a glow of whisky-like alcohol, oily and very long. American barleywine along with DIPA and IIPA is the beer style in which the highest IBUs are found and this Polish interpretation makes no compromise at 110 IBU; exemplary for its intended style, but one for the devoted hophead only, I think.

Bottle. Pours hazy, oily dark ruby brown with airy light tan head. Clear aroma of malt, caramel and yeast, with some fruity touches. Bitter, hoppy taste, with seeetish notes of caramel malt, Lingering, rough, aftertaste. A good, even taste for the style. Not too sweet.

Bottle shared in Warsaw. Pours mostly clear orange with a bubbly topping. Rich citrusy hops in the nose, pine, orange. Medium sweet flavour with more piney character, light grassy bitterness, bready malt, a little alcohol. Medium to full bodied with average carbonation. Resinous finish, more pine, ripening and lightly jammy citrus, some warming booze. Pretty solid.

Flaska från Ebrowarium.pl drucken med ölföreningen. En söt och fruktig sak någonstans mellan DIPA och BW. Aprikos, physalis och annan söt gul frukt. Rejäl beska. Riktigt trevlig.
