Brown color with tan ring. Aroma is fruity, grapes, dark malts. Taste is rosemary, spicy, a bit malty, a bit wood sugar. Medium carbonation. Quite spicy. Could get more from a Cognac barrel though.

Draft glass @ Billie’s Bierkafetaria. Very dark reddish brown with a small mocha head. Nose is thick syrupy licorice cooked apple, sugar, very thick raisin, syrupy dark fruits with noticeable oxidation. Taste carries clear oxidation, light cardboard, overly thick raisin, hay, thick cooked apple, raisin, dark fruits, oxidized dates, light varnish, cough syrup, barrel comes across only as slight varnish in the finish. Main effect of the barrel appears to be lessening of the carbonation & clear oxidation in an unbecoming fashion. Overly thick cough syrup fruits, light varnish & clear oxidation. Wine version worked wonderfully but this one falters for but old school enthusiasts of Belgian beers might find here more to enjoy than I did.
