This tentacled terminator packs a punch - ten punches to be precise. Each hop addition adds to the intense layers of depth in this red rye IPA. Toasty caramel & cinder toffee from crystal malts, cacao richness from intensely roasted malt and the spiciness of rye. Zesty pithiness from citra and the robust resin of chinook. This small batch exclusive brew is up-front intensity matched with twisted complexity.

The can features awesome custom art from Joe Wilson.

12 ounce can. Found a single of this at the Wegman’s In Princeton, NJ. Orange copper pour topped by a big rocky beige head. Earthy toasted malt nose hints at toasted bread. Sweet toasted malt flavor has spicy notes of caramel and rye grain. Deliciously complex and layered. Resiny hop finish.

On tap at Craft Room, Zagreb. Deep dark ruby red, small off-white head. Aroma is an interesting combo of butterscotch, spice, overripe red fruit and wood. Stale flavour, malts everywhere, good balance between toast and caramel. Bread, rye givinge the spicy note out. Hops subdued but playing its part. Sweet, subtle. Drinkable. Dry finish, very nice barrel presence in the end.

OK, from a can got it from chalet premier. Aroma of hop perfume cleaning fluid. Bitter of course, and darker than expected. Cloudy eye. Yes, terrible on style IPA tasty stuff with a big rye(?) piercing happy bullshit bitter ass kick in the palate, go figger, isn't his is what all IPA and specialty rye beers about? Insult my taste buds and then say it's for the better? Holy shit. Everything form these brewdog people are terribly on style over the top. How could this even be in the same category as Beaver Roggenator, Sprague Farm French and Indian Corn Ale, Green's Discovery, Indigo Imp Fiend, 2.68 4/3/2011 Stone Spröcket Bier or even Petrucci Brothers Rye Not? Dude, get with it.

12 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 10/31/2018. Pours lightly hazy/cloudy deep orange/copper/light reddish color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and rocky cream colored head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Dense soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big red grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, peach, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, berries, citrus peel/zest, wood, light peppercorn, pine, caramel, brown sugar, spicy rye, toasted biscuit, light nutty/toffee/roast, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and dark/rye/bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big red grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, peach, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, berries, citrus peel/zest, wood, light peppercorn, pine, caramel, brown sugar, spicy rye, toasted biscuit, light nutty/toffee/roast, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness; and rye spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of red grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, peach, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, berries, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, pine, caramel, brown sugar, spicy rye, toasted biscuit, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and dark/rye/bready malt flavors; with an awesome malt/bitterness and rye spiciness balance; with no cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitter/spiciness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/bready/sticky, and fairly resinous/rindy balanced mouthfeel that is great. Minimal warming alcohol for 7.4%. Overall this is an awesome red rye IPA. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and dark/rye/bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the mellowly bitter/resinous/drying finish, not aggressive. Awesome Citra/Chinook profile. Very juicy and fairly dank/earthy hops; with a great dark/rye/bready malt backbone. Light residual sweetness with lingering resin dryness. A really enjoyable offering, and impressive style example. Not overly bitter/spicy on the rye.

12/10/18. Rating removed by some overly zealous admin for not containing enough pretentious details about this particular beer. It's a rye IPa so as expected it was delivering in fruitiness and deep malty flavours.
