Tasted at Vinni,Birri,Ribelli 2015. Pours dark brown. No head. Smell is sweet. Taste is dry, bit bitter.Sweet, heavy. Nice !

Sampled 330 ml. bottle @ “Vini Birre Ribelli 2015”. Very strong barley wine, tasted after the one they age on Champagne barrels. Dark brown, touch black, basically no head. Nose is very warming thick chocolate, toffee, chocolate truffles with oxidation, vinous qualities & lots of sugar. Taste is sugar, oxidation, warming, sugar, toffee, chocolate, walnuts, mineral qualities, lightly vinous, lightly salty. Pretty much flat & strong oxidation. Much as with the other version, the oxidation could & should have probably be toned down a bit & it will be even better. Given that this was aged on amphora barrels, that is probably not possible, he showed a picture of his amphora barrels, ridiculous. Very unique, sweet, sugar barley wine goodness, sherry with interesting minor but complimentary, vinous, mineral & lightly (only a small touch) salty notes.
