Nancy is a tart ale that brings local cherries together with Brettanomyces yeast. The beer is brewed onto a blend of Maine-grown Balaton and Montmorrency cherries. It ferments for over a year in a stainless steel tank with the cherries and Brettanomyces. Copper in color, Nancy’s flavor is a medley of citrus, cherry, and pie spice, with a hint of graham cracker. The finish is dry and refreshingly tart.

375ML split 3 ways last week. bottle was slightly shaken up, light cherry nose, tart with some effervescent sparkling water like carbonation. brett and lax taste, spicy finish. The cherry is not overhwelming at all and it’s a top sour to me from Allagash. I’d seek out more of it.

375 ml bottle shared by radarsock, thanks Andrew. Hazy straw color, thin head in the snifter. Aroma is horse blanket, tart green apple... Apples? No cherry with a sour mash.
Flavor is mild tart cherry upfront, mild sour lemon with a low Brett character. Musty/ stale basement hint in the finish. Body is medium with lightly acidic notes. Nice.

Draft at Churchkey for the Night of the Living Ales #4. Poured a slightly hazy ruby yellow color with a small slightly off-white head. Plenty of carbonation. Aroma was acid, funky notes. Cherries. Tart citrus, lemon, funky with some nice acid notes.
Girlfriend really liked it. Definitely a Julie Beer (TM).

375ml bottle from Shoreline Beverage. Pours a lightly hazy orange with some white head that faded fast. Not a whole lot of apparent carbonation. Nose has a lot of traditional gueze character, a little manure, horsey, earthy, straw, some lemon, some lightly floral notes. Lots of funk though, no cherries to speak of. Flavor has a lot of lemon rind, maybe some white cherry acidity, like unripened cherries, a little blood orange happening. Lightly acetic finish. Interesting. Definitely not a sour brown/red and hardly any cherry to it. If I didn’t open the bottle myself, I would think this was a mis-pour. As it, not bad, but I’ve liked other offerings more.

Bottle @ What the Funk, October 2014, Denver. Pours a cloudy orange appearance with a khaki head. Some cheesy / lactic notes in the nose with bright wild cherries. The flavor exhibits the cherries so magnificently that it even though I didn’t find the beer overly complex, it was a big winner. There was a certain amount of spiciness like nutmeg/cinnamon from the cherries. Some cobweb / hay / funky notes as well. Pretty high carbonation. Maybe my favorite of the festival. Hope to try this one again!
