Hop Freshener Series: Dank & Sticky

IPA - Imperial / Double Series|

The inaugural beer of The Hop Concept brand, this IPA boasts aromas of citrus and dank, resinous pine. As the flavor opens, huge notes of stonefruit and dank resin give way to a malty backbone and drying hop bitterness on the finish.

Botella 66 cl en Cimmeria 29.. 06.. 2017. (r07).

Bottle picked up from Beer Gonzo (I think) consumed at Camping Trezulien, Douarnenez, Brittany, Saturday 17th June 2017 Pours warm gold with a white head, there is a light haze. After the beers of Breton this is something of a hop monster but gorgeous. Hoppy but underpinned with a nice blanket of sweet malt. Streaky, juicy, citrussy, bloody marvellous. A7 A4 T8 P4 Ov16 3.9

Pine bomb, pine city, pinier than a log truck loaded down with pulpwood headed to the paper mill. Nose offers up citrus, weed, and (all together now) pine, and the pour’s a masterpiece, amber gold topped by a massive white head and incredible lacing. Taste starts with a slap of orange-mango citrus, then grows a semisweet toasted malt middle before long stretches of floral and resinous hops turn the finish into a pinetree extravaganza. Fade is thick and clingy, massive bitterness refusing to budge from the palate. Nice DIPA.

22 once bottle. Medium gold color capped by a rocky beige head and clinging lace. Fragrant floral hop nose, with earthy, dank nuances. First sip brings intense bitter hops and grainy malt. Resiny, piney dank hop flavor abounds. Like rotten peaches, rotting in the summer sun. Hugely bitter throughout. Dry and bitter finish. Warming alcohol notes as well.

Bottle (thanks fatphil). Pours amber. Aroma is very sweet, citrus, malt. Flavor is sweet and bitter, pine, citrus, malt. Feels old. Covers alcohol well. Overall: ok, but needs to try fresher version.

Review from memory - bottle shared with friends on May 28, 2015. Clear orange pour with a tall off-white head. Tons of citrus and pine hops in the aroma and taste, well balanced by a sweet malt back backbone. Medium body and carbonation. A great beer.

650ml bottle from Kihoskh. Pours hazy yellowish orange with a foamy white head. Aroma of juicy fruits, zesty grapefruit, tropical notes, herbal hops and grass. Taste is hoppy, herbal and grassy with some pine and resin. Finish is crisp, hoppy and herbal with some grass and lingering bitterness. Pretty good.
