Sample from bottle @ BØ 15. Pours opaque brown, with a small creamy mocha head. Aroma is dark roasted malts, with bourbon barrels, tobacco, dark fruits and vanilla. Full creamy body, with soft carbonation. Flavour is dark burned malts with massive bourbon notes of oak, charcoal, tobacco, muscovado and vanilla. Lingering roasted and wooden finish.

Tap/bottle? during RBESG2015, Day 3, Copenhagen - dark brown coloured pour with beige head. Medium sweet malty aroma and taste, toasty, caramel, toffee, brown sugar, dried fruity and nutty, some spices, medium sweet bitter finish. Great stuff, lovely.

Draft sample @ Berlin Braufest 2015. Brune foncée, huileux au verre, col blanc-cassé. Arôme offre un bouquet énorme de BA avec un rétro boisé qui donne qcq notes de vanille. Malt grillé, caramel avec un style collant plus à une IRS que Barley. Palais aux notes vanille profondes,et plein de barrique, épais boozy avec un palais réchauffant, malt crystal léger sucré, caramel avec une longueur de bouche de la barrique très agréable, épais avec un usage d’avoine? Je ne retrouve pas vraiment le caractère d’un barley, mais cette bière comme souvent avec les BA de Lervig est convaincante.

Pours pitch black with a smooth brown head. Aroma of berries, loads of oak, wood, vanilla, toffee, syrup, slight roastiness, molasses, bourbon and hops. Taste is heavy, complex, sweetish and malty with loads of toffee, oak, wood, vanilla, bourbon and syrup with some caramely notes. Finish is smooth, heavy and complex with some sweet maltiness, toffee, loads of bourbon, wood, oak and vanilla. Quite heavy and complex, yet very well balanced. Awesome.

Aroma has sweet caramel tones, bourbon and some licorice. Flavour has stinging woody tones, caramel, sweet malt, bourbon, vanilla and some ripe fruits. Very nice slow sipper.
