07-06-20 // 330ml bottle. I am hin und hergerissen. This has some fascinating touches and some harsher notes. Loads of roast. A soft vanilla like grand marnier note.

Smooth mild beginning. Easy to drink, caramel and grain. Soft smooth wood and hints of red dark fruit there. The Grand Manier is there with hints of oranges and wood. Very interesting combination, fruity and dark in one. Nice!

330ml bottle [#0098/900]. Quasi black colour with average to huge, frothy, slowly osteoporosing, minimally lacing, tan head. Chocolately, dark malty and slightly tannic, woody, minimally vinous, BA aroma, hints of dark chocolate, a touch of red wine, white wine, minimally bretty overtones. Taste is dry, woody, slightly tannic, minimally vinous, slightly roasty, chocolately dark malty, minimally boozy, hints of cocoa, dark chocolate, red wine, a touch of blue grapes and liqueur. I wasn't a big fan of the Black Prototyp and this BA version doesn't really tickle me neither. Slightly disharmonious, too alcoholic.

Pours thick and black with a thin, beige crown. The barrel has the upper hand in the aroma, with the oranges and overall boozy aroma of the Grand Marnier dominating all else, certainly any sense of the porter underneath. That said, it’s not an unpleasant aroma. Taste is mild bitter up front with a roasted character. The finish is long and trends sour with notes of boozy orange peel lingering long afterward. Medium bodied, moderate to mild carbonation. Good.

0,33 l bottle no. 0016 out of 900. Pitch black in the glass, small one finger beige head. Intensive fruity smell, some sourness, old barrelwood, dark earthy. Taste starts alcoholic, dark roasted malt, dry coffee. Dark berriefruits in the background. Warming. Little bit rough. Dark fruity aftertaste with some coffee.
