tap at plan-b appears clear brown/red-brown with a small head. aroma is quite faint. slightly hoppy. sweet. caramel. flavor is brown sugar-sweet, malty sweet. roasted stuff, subdued bitterness. slight vinous tones. palate is decent doesn’t taste like a 7%, but in the "i’m a weak beer" kind of way.

From tap at Ølbaren. Pours clear and golden orange with a diminished tan head. Aroma is fruity and cornish with a nice roasted malty note. Flavour is mild sweet malty with alight wineous touch and a light bitternes. Vague metallic note.

(bottle) Clear, brown colour with a short off-white foamy head. Sweet roast-malty aroma with caramel, a touch of liquorice and cacao. Sweet flavour, medium to full bodied with a soft and pleasant carbonation. Robust roast-malty taste with caramel, liquorice and subtle (dried) fruity elements; moderately sweet and roasty bitter finish with a shy hoppy touch. Okay, a Bock of decent quality (24.04.07).

Bottle: Chestnut coloured, small, but lacing off-white head; distinctive sweet malt, some dark fruit and a whiff of roasted malt in the nose; mainly sweetish flavour, medium bodied; short sweetish-fruity finish. Not bad, but a bit monotonous, like an average diluted Doppelbock............

Orange-tinted chestnut colour, with thick & creamy, collapsing tan head. Dark, sweet malts, nearly chocolate, but with grassy overtones, leafy. Rather bitterish taste with an unmistakable but discreet sweeter, malt underbuild. Roasted malts, combined with some DE hops gradually fill in, lending it a bitter, sharpish frame. Medium to well-bodied. Slightly burning MF, quite slick. Good Bock, not too sweet, but I might have preferred the balance roasted/hops more tilted towards the latter. Txs, Sebastian.

I like the label on this beer. The beer is deep red with a thin rim of beige head. The aroma is sweet with strong notes of caramel as well as lesser notes of alcohol. The flavor is very sweet with quite a lot of caramel as well a light roasted notes.

On tap at Battersea Beer Festival 2006. Deep chestnut colour with cream head. Quite nice malts, bit of carbonation. Good malts, some smoke, some toffee, dryish finish. In fact a bit too over carbonated. Some soy sauce (thanks Duff)

Test vom 15.12.2005, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 9,12,11,8,8,11 - 10,35
