Brut is De Vlier's festive beer. Perfect as an aperitif and on festive occasions. This beer has lovely fresh acidity through a complex fermentation process. The secondary fermentation with champagne yeast creates strong carbonic bubbles and a full flavour. With taste evolution, unfiltered and unpasteurized. The excellent companion to a festive event. You are looking for an alternative to cava, crémant or champagne? Look no further, you found it!
Fermentation:Main fermentation with low yeast and lactic acid bacteria. Secondary fermentation with champagne yeast. Fermentation in the bottle
hops: Saaz hops
malt: Contains pilsner malt, wheat malt and elderflower syrup

Pale golden colour, white head. Aroma of white wine, sour berries and malts. Sour flavour, light sweet notes, light astringent. Sour finish, malts and elderflower. Quite refreshing, nice!

Clear blond body with a white fizzy head (fastly diminishing). Aroma of orange, grass, earth, ... Moderately bitter, moderately sweet flavour. Not fully in balance. Still quite ok.

Bottle @ home. Very hazy pale yellow with a medium white head that doesn’t last. Smells sour, berries, fresh. Tastes sourish, fresh, fruity, floral, soft. Medium body, fizzy carbo.

75cl bottle shared by Dutchdrebus. Hazy pale yellow color, medium sized white head that disappears quickly. Smell lightly sour, fruits like lemon and berries. Taste is about the same : a slight sourness from berries and lightly lemon. A bit high carbonated, average to medium body. Decent, but a 75cl bottle by yourself is too much I’d say.

Very good, fast dwindling white head over pale golden beer, slight haze. Acetic nose, pickles! Pearjuice, perry, but always with this sourish vinegary touch. Slowly receding, leaving (sourish) flowers. Again pretty sourish, but virtually no acetic in the mouth - more lemony. Sweetish background, fine pale malts, reasonable balance. Flavour has again overcarbonated perry or cider-touches. Agressive, over-Champenoise pearling, jumping fysically out of the glass into the nose. Very slight slickness, thinnish body - the elderflower syrup must been fermented out completely. Something has been tried here, and more power to them for that. But one will have to agree it didn’t work out 100%. Imagine a sparkling wine that smells of vinegar...

Bottle @ VBPF’12.

Cloudy yellow to light orange beer, big white head, dissipates immediately. Aroma: same as the framboos, meaty, cheesy? Weird, stinks. MF: lots of carbon, medium body. Taste: cheesy, yeast, bit dirty, sour, minty. Aftertaste: lemony, raspberries.
