A collaboration with our neighbors at Intelligentsia Coffee, this unique beer is named after the street we both call home. This medium bodied golden ale is "dry-beaned" with whole coffee beans to infuse it with subtle coffee flavors and aromas.

Bottle, courtesy of Sezanne, Colmar, 6 months over the date. Pours shiny orange. Aroma is gentle coffee beans, caramel and vanilla. Body is medium, lively carbonation, really sweet, honey and caramel, over a n always present, chewy bitterness. Only a little coffee flavour, but that might be because of the age. Sweetish palate. Gentle.

This review was imported from my RateBeer ratings.

12 oz. bottle.

AROMA: Slightly sweet with scents of caramel, citrus, and herbs.

APPEARANCE: Pours a clear, golden orange with a small, white head that dissipates quickly.

TASTE: I'm a coffee drinker and I can't detect any coffee flavor at all. What I do taste is somewhat bitter, acidic, and grassy.

PALATE: Medium-bodied, sticky texture, lively carbonation, and an astringent finish

OVERALL: I've had other Goose Island beers that I enjoy quite a bit. This one, not so much. The label claims "Rich coffee flavor and aroma", but my nose and tongue do not detect any coffee at all. Add to that, the mostly bitter flavor, and it becomes an unfavored beer for me.

The coffee smell is definitely lurking right under the cap. But it's rather mild. I do not get any of the usual sweetness of a golden ale. The beer in my glass is a little more brassy than golden, with a very short-lived head. The taste has some coffee bitterness up front. But again, it's pretty well balanced. It has a simple hop load of Millennium only, so most of the flavor does indeed come from the coffee. I'd think it should be a little more "roasty," but them I'm kind of used to coffee with roasted malt in an imperial stout. At 5.5% ABV, it's still a bit filling. I don't think this will keep me up all night, but then again, I often sleep soundly after a large instant iced coffee at 11 pm. So don't go by me. But I'd call it a decent desert beer, but one that won't displace any room for Jell-O.

Moss and lemon zest aroma. Clear amber, medium head. Lemongrass and a swift turn to horehound, kibble finish. Medium body, easy carbonation. I respect the innovation, but it doesn't work for me.

Dark amber with little head. Very slight coffee aroma. Tastes like a light ale with some darker undertones. Palates consists of coffee, chocolate, cherry? and maybe some other fruits. Good beer, coffee notes are balanced so that they aren’t overwhelming.

I'm not really a fan of coffee in any beer that isn't dark, and can't say this one did wonders for me. Like a boring golden ale with some coffee. But not even much coffee, and to be fair I asked my coworker for a sip of his, which I poured into my unwashed coffee cup at work. Pretty creamy. Bottle from mixed pack.

Pours light gold, kinda skimpy with the foam, no lacing.

Nose has some coffee, hints of chocolate, grain, a little bit toasty.

Taste is of coffee, citrus, chocolate like flavour, grain.

Light bodied with medium carbonation.

Pretty average tasting.
