Black Magic

Draught @ De Struise Brewery @ The Old School. Pours black with a tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, dark chocolate, grass, fruity hops, light citrus. Flavor is bitter roasted malt, dark chocolate, coffee, light caramel, light bitter grassy hops, fruit, citrus, some alcohol aswell. Medium to full body, soft carbonation, warming alcohol in the finish, but no surprise at 17 % ABV. Good stuff. 020814

Draft @ Struise Schooltje. Holy black magic incantation batman, this beer rocks. De couleur noire trouble, col fin beige. Au niveau olfactif, on met le plein des malts qui sont centrés vers un grillé, biscuité. Amertume parvient à percer et cela malgré les 17%. Je note un léger bouquet amer citronné et finement fleuri. Palais est profond au niveau du malté, profil grillé/cara ponctué par un houblonné laissant une fine pointe d’amertume citronnée. Cette bière jongle parfaitement avec un houblonné paraissant noble et un malté généreux offrant si et là notes de caramel, grillé mais restant dans son approche proche d’un style européen de pils impérial avec une connotation impérial schwarz. Hautement traître par son caractère buvable, et une complexité sans pareil dont seul Struise à le secret.

Draft at schooltje Pours black , good , milky head . Smell bitter , bit aromatic . Taste is creamy , bitter , hoppy , thick mouthfeel . Very nice !
