500ml bottle. Clear, dark brown colour with ruby shimmer and average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, beige head. Sweet-ish, minimally roasty and chocolately, dark malty aroma, hints of dark chocolate. Taste is roasty and chocolately dark malty, notes of dark chocolate, milk chocolate, dark caramel, subtle sweetness, light grassy hoppy tartness. Watery texture, smooth and soft palate, medium, soft, mildly prickly carbonation. Well balanced, nice composition - good.

Bottle, many thanks pivnizub! Brown color with creamy beige head. Aroma is earthy, bready, a bit herbal, seems sweet. Taste is black bread, herbal, earthy, some roast, not that sweet after all, but a little bit watery. Oily mouthfeel with natural carbonation and a bit of a rough finish. Not bad.

Coffee and brown sugar in the aroma. Roasted malt flavor with a touch of raisin. Thin. Toast and malt in the aftertaste. Friendly, but lacks body and could be more assertive. Swing top bottle from Pivnizub.

Rocky beige head stayed on a black still body. Liquorice, tar, aniseed & bonfire toffee aroma. Medium bodied, light airy over the palate with a creamy back. Malt, toffee, caramel, liquorice & bonfire toffee tastes with a light fruity finish.

0.3 l on tap at 'Fiege's Stammhaus'. Clear, very dark reddish brown to black with a medium large, frothy, almost stable, beige head. Sweetish-malty, a little roasty and minimally fruity aroma of caramel, toasted nuts, some licorice and faint hints of raisins. Medium sweet, malty, slightly roasty taste of caramel, toasted nuts, some dark chocolate, a touch of licorice and traces of raisins, followed by a short, moderately roasty-bitter, a bit earthy-dry finish. Medium body, smooth and slightly creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Nice Schwarzbier with a good balance and a very pleasant mouthfeel. Looking at my own ratings, it appears to me that Fiege beers are somehow way better from tap than from bottle.

Taste is light metallic, cheap bit thin syrup, caramel syrup, extract-like, light herbal bitterness, basic syrup,… Body is a bit older, thinned out lager with metallic note. Very basic, syrup, metallic etc. like. Okay for what it is.

50cl bottle courtesy of and shared with Tderoeck and 77ships. BB 30/05/2015.
