Deep super hazy golden and orange-tinted body with a thick, rich, four centimetre tall tan head. Bright aroma of oak, yeast, bright floral and piney hops, alcohol, rich malt and wheat, some sugars and a very pleasant honey and sweet note. Medium to Full-bodied; Very pungent oak and dry characteristic with some wheat, grass and hay, all coupled with the bright piney and floral hops and a rich honey sweetness on the end. Aftertaste shows the large complexity and the delicate flavours of hops, flowers and yeast - very nice and robust throughout, but especially on the end. Overall, one of the best Imperial IPAs (or Belgian) that I’ve had in a long time - definitely worth trying if you can find it! I’m glad I brought this one back home with me! I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Belmont Station in Portland, Oregon for US$7.95 sampled at home in New Paltz, New York on 17-January-2014.

Bomber. Aroma consists of citrus, cotton candy, smoke, vanilla, wood. Pours cloudy orange with a large long-sustaining off-white head with excellent retention; leaves some decorative lace. Taste is bittersweet with flavors of coconut, citrus; has a lingering bitter finish. I was a little skeptical when I first heard about this beer. Oak and everything about the IPA style don’t sound like they would coexist very well. Turns out that in the right hands, they do! Thanks, Fort George.

22 oz. bottle, pours a hazy orange with a one-finger width creamy white head. Aroma is very pungent, with loads of tropical fruits, intense citrus rinds, and wood. Flavour is very similar, with a very robust profile of citrus rind, citrus hops, lots of tropical fruitiness, and only a slight hint of the bourbon barrels. If you're going to barrel age an IPA, this is how you do it - leave the hops in tact and just accentuate the flavours with the wood / oak / liquor. Most excellent stuff.
