Bottle thanks to Douglas! Pours murky orange, large beige head, creamy and slow to dissipate with nice lacing. Aroma is orange, pine, oak. Flavor is fully sweet, medium bitter, caramel, oak, pine. Medium body. Huh.

Poured from a bottle that I forgot about in my desk at work for far too long. Aroma is malty with some light alcohol spice. Moderate notes of caramel, with lighter notes of toasted bread and toffee. Some medium light bourbon notes with light oak. Moderately strong hop notes of grapefruit and pine. Some light phenolic notes. Pours a rather murky, copper-brown with a large, thick, tan head that exhibits very good retention. Moderately high lacing and medium small legs. Flavor is slightly sweet upfront and gets sweeter in the finish. Moderate notes of toasted bread and caramel with lighter notes of honey. Some light bourbon and oak notes. Medium high bitterness with some more bourbon and alcohol spice in the finish. Some light phenolics with some esters of pear, stone fruit and banana. Medium hop notes of grapefruit and pine resin. Mouthfeel is medium to medium full bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and medium low alcohol warmth. Overall, this tastes more like a small, American barley wine rather than an IPA. The malt presence is rather strong and the bourbon barrel doesn’t work great with the Belgian IPA qualities. Definitely a weird mess of a beer.

Bottle - Jam and fruit rind, caramel and some orange. Hazy gold with a rich white head. Apricot, orange, woody notes and lots of sweetness. Light bitterness which is balance with the sweetness and a touch of booze burn in the finish.

Thank you tderoeck! Tasting glass from 650 ml. bottle consumed @ “The Tasting formerly known as Mons RBBAG I (2014)”. Hazy orange, creamy white head. Very fruity, orange nose, light herbs, juicy grapefruit, vanilla. Taste is creamy orange, light peel, very fruity, biscuit, vanilla, lollipop, lots of sugar, biscuit, oak, sugar, light bitter in the back. Thick creamy body. It seems like I really like BA IPA’s. This is awesome.

25/X/14 - 1Pt. 6Fl. Oz. bottle from a trade @ The Autumn Gathering formerly known as RBBAG Mons (Gent) - BB: n/a, but pretty fresh, straight from the States! (2014-1266) Thanks to bigmanlavos for the trade!

Clear orange beer, big irregular yellowish head, pretty stable, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: very fruity, grapefruit, pineapple, sweet, grassy, passion fruits. MF: ok carbon, full body. Taste: bitter, some orange peel, citrus, very resinous, piny notes. Aftertaste: citrus, fruity, pineapple, bit malty, grapefruit, bitter, sweet, some orange peel, caramel. Probably one of the best B.A. ipa's I've ever had (even if that's not really a lot).

Bomber from the late, perhaps lamented, LetsPour.com. Pours hazy orange gold with a slight white head. Aroma of treacle and citrus. Sort of a bakery aroma. Full bodied I’d say. Flavor is woody, fruity, citrus, woody, maybe bourbon. Yea, some bourbon. And the oak really come through in the finish. If this isn’t dank, it’s got to be close. Ton of hop. No trace of heat. Head bending flavorful ale. Woot. Other words of approbation.

On tap at bier thirty. Pours out a muddy golden topped with a small sand head. Nose is pine caramel malts oak barrel and citrus. Taste is as the nose with barrel citrus and a good bitterness and sweetness on the end.

Draught at Chuck’s Hop Shop, 85th st, Seattle
Cloudy amber color with creamy head. The aroma is a bit pungent and animal. The mouthfeel is rather dry, and lean, but the hop animal character is evident.
Maybe too aggressive.
