Inspired by Nordic tradition, Perle ai Porci is a Stout brewed with oysters and a local variety of clams (a Slow Food Presidium from the Lazio region to add a touch of terroir!) added to the boil in the whole shell. The aromas are roasty and slightly mineral. The mouthfeel is round and silky, with a nice and not intrusive delicate briny finish given by the shellfish.

330 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet. ABV is 5.2%. Black colour, moderate beige head. The flavour has the expected notes of roast malts, mild coffee and chocolate, but also a distinct fruitiness. The flavour is smooth, roasty and fruity, with chocolate and mild coffee again, and hints of oysters and the tellina molluscs that have been added to the boil. A very enjoyable beer, might buy again.

Bottle, thank you daniele. Black pour with caramel highlights and a medium-low ivory dark foam. Nose: rich sweet roast, cherry chocolate. Mouth: saltiness is perfectly balanced with roast if you do not know about the oysters is feels a bit strange, finish is sweet with a sharp bitterness too.

Tap @Open Baladin, Roma. Black with thick beige head. Mild roasted aroma, notes of chocolate. Sea water, fishy and chocolate flavour. Sounds like a bad idea for a combo, and it is... ends dry, but then again it doesn?t end, the brine and fish just keep on giving....
