33cL bottle at B 12 in Girona. Dated BB 13/07/16. Pours with a strong big tan head, very dark brown color beer. Aroma is milky and chalk, husky black malts. Some sweet malt syrup, mild generic hoppiness. Slightly viscous body with some tingling carbonation. Flavor is similarly husk malts, weighty unfermented malts that happen to be dark. Some low bitter hops peaking through. This is the type of Impy stout that would have been fine a decade ago but nowadays comes off as a bit amateurish. Though it’s the strongest beer I have found in Spain and it doesn’t have the detracting elements found in strong beer, just needs to take care of the unfermented, husk malt issue.

330 ml. bottle sampled @ “Exclusive S&G Tasting: Special guest 77ships”. Thanks to Mathieu87 & PriorL. Dark brown, black. Thick liquorish, candy, syrupy, brown sugar, mocha smell & taste. Thick mocha body, not stellar but enjoyable for sure.

On tap @ La Cervrtica. Yeah, it's definitely black this one. Not possible to see through at all. A nice medium sized super-lacing light brown head is also in place. Lovely nose. Deep roasted, yet slightly sweetish. Some licorice sweetness also detected. Oh, this is tasty! It has that really creamy cloudy feeling in the mouth. Roasted in the taste also. Some alcohol but not overwhelming at all. Balanced and really flavorful. A great imperial stout! 04.08.2014
