Oaktoberfest is a true German Märzen bier, brewed with premium imported Pilsner and Vienna malts. It’s spiced with Bavarian hops from the Fatherland, and fermented with the famous Bavarian Augustiner Lager yeast from Munich. We utilized German Hallertauer traditions for both bittering and aroma additions, adding a rich, noble hop presence to this beer.

On tap at Concordia Ale House, pours a hazy golden yellow with a medium white head. Aroma of lager yeast, not much oak presence - pretty bland nose. Flavour of light oak barrels, atop lager yeast and corn-like malt. Not the most refined Firestone Walker beer, but drinkable.

On draught at Yard House Denver. Clear copper color with a medium off-white head that diminishes steadily. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of caramel malt and hops. Light-bodied with a sweet malty character and notes of caramel and woody hops. The finish is sweet with a malty aftertaste. Decent overall.

Tap at The Davis Beer Shoppe. Pours bright amber with a creamy off-white head. Light aroma that might be spice; might be oak. The flavors are mild caramel, mild noble hop and mild oak. There’s a 1% tendency toward sour. Nice laid back beer.

Tap at Euclid Hall - clear amber, fairly good head retention - taste is initially moderately rich and toasty Vienna malts, followed by moderately herbal, fruity and floral hops - a bit herbal and lightly woody (although it is so light, it might be my mind tricking me because of the name) - a touch of tartness on the tail end - a touch of acidity - I like like it - went well with my sausage.

Tap @ Falling Rock. Clear, copper appearance with a nice, off white head. Dak caramel malty, lager, lightly spicy aroma. Fairly light bodied, slightly grainy, light caramel malty lager flavor. Not too interesting and I’m not getting any oak.

On tap. Pours with a white head and a clear amber-orange body. Full retention from the head and very nice lace. Aroma of caramel and toast. Not much else. Tastes is grain, and bone dry. Super attenuated. Dry bread, caramel. Very clean and tasty for the style, although a tad too low of FG. Lively bubbles. Dry, really dry.

On tap at Pete’s Brass Rail and Carwash in Danville, CA. It pours gold with thin white head. The aroma is sweet with malts and has a hint of noble hops. The taste is mild and doesn’t come off overly sweet. I get sweet malts balanced somewhat with grainy malts. There’s also a pale maltiness mixed in there too.
