Named after Nelson Sauvin, an outstanding hop varietal from New Zealand. The hop is introduced through the brewing and dry-hopping of this complex and well-balanced IPA. A hazy straw hued ale, Nelson is topped by bright white beer foam and offers a tropical hop aroma. The pine and fruity hop notes linger, but are well-balanced by the smooth, malty addition of European rye malts. Enjoy this stunning and multifaceted, yet mellow IPA.

Thick and quite dry, some citrus and other tropical stuff, very hoppy and a bit bitter. Not bad.

Can. Hazy yellow pour. Aroma of rye, white grape, oat, citrus and some grassy piney hop. Taste has bitter white grape, soft rye, citrus, bitter grassy hop and orange. Nice.

[On tap at Fullerton Brewing Co, Fullerton, CA.] A hazy amber pour with a thin white head; clean grape aroma; full bodied with a touch of spice from the rye and a clean crisp bitterness. The rye seems to mask some of the aromatics from the Nelson Sauvin hops, but otherwise this is a nicely balanced IPA.

Can from BevMo in Dana Point. Translucent yellow orange pour with fine dissipating white head. Aroma is grassy, some pine, some light citrus, malt is sort of straw/dusty, but in a good way. Nice. Taste is solid pine bitterness at the start, grassy hops, some citrus, slight spice from rye. Tasty very solid, straightforward IPA. Not super juicy, not super dank, not super Nelson-y, but the crisp white wine flavors are there. Smooth finely carbonated palate. Very good, though maybe not as good as I expected given ratings.

Tap at Wiz. Yummy. But exactly as expected. Initial tropical fruit burst, mango, pineapple, then nice bitterness. Pretty damn tasty. Recent Nelson beers I've had have been a bit disappointing, but this reminds me why I like it. Very easy drinking in spite of the %. Perfect balance between hoppy bitterness and sweet fruitiness. Like it a lot.

On a Flight at Stadium Brewing on 20th March 2019. Misty look to the light golden pour, white topping. The nose held a malty and citrus ester or two, oranges to the fore. The taste was a semi-sweet malty molasses affair with a semi-bitter citrus hop flavour and a sprinkling of pepper.

Delicious IPA, full of weird Nelson Sauvin vinous fruitiness and a spicy, herbal rye backbone. A dry white grape front houses hints of citrus and a grass undertone, while the rye malt as a distinct grainy heaviness to the finish, balancing out with a bready, chardonnay-tinged fade. White wine and rye on the nose. Pours a beautiful gold with an ample white head and tons of lace. Sparkly, oily texture is perfect. Lovely beer.

Tap at Neighbourhood, San Diego, 22nd November 17. Pours straw coloured with a light haze. Aroma is orange, sweets, tropical fruit. Taste is orange sherbert, light floral, some perfect bitterness, so easy drinking. Awsome IPA
