Pours hazy orange with a small, bubbly head. Wonderful aroma of tropical fruits, wood, oranges and loads of hops. Really bitter and complex flavour of pine, resin, wood, hops, hops hops, hops and more hops. One of the best Double IPA’s I’ve ever had.

flaska från Brill. En superbesk DIPA. Redan doften slår an tonen med besk grapemarmelad. Klibbig, oljig vätska, resinbeska, grapebeska. Beskan slår ut de andra fruktigare tonerna från humlen. Riktigt maffig, men inte i för stora mängder.

Bomber, bottled 8/9/12. My bottle reads 10% ABV. Pours hazy golden with a huge off-white ice cream float-like head that leaves decorative lace; takes its sweet time to recede. Aroma is grapefruity, catboxy, piney, peachy. Taste is expolosively bitter and lingers that way through the long finish; it also has a hint of sour. Prickly mouthfeel and a full body. This is the first really good imperial IPA I’ve had in a long time. I’ve been let down by a lot of good brewers lately with this style. Thank you, Port Brewing!

Bottle. Pours cloudy orange amber with a large white head, somewhat fizzy, with good if a little clumpy lacing. Aroma is somewhat muddled pine, spruce, herbal, grass, and citrus. Flavor is quite bitter with light astringence and a medium bitter finish. Some sweetness from caramel malts, but definitely in the background. This is a very complex beer, but in my opinion almost too complex and lacking a clear identity.

Bomber @ The Rover. Pours very hazy apricot colour with a small offwhite head that quickly dissipates without leaving much trace. Smell is sweet, fruity ad tiny herbal with apricot jam, resin, freshly cut grass, resin, moist almost sweet tobacco, alcohol, peaches, pineapple, cookie dough, orange peal and plums in brandy. Taste is sweet, bitter, fruity and herbal with bread, resin, pale honey, peaches, pineapple, resin, pine, moist tobacco, alcohol, freshly cut grass, biscuits, dried apricots, orange peal, citrus marmalade, cookie dough, grapefruit juice, unripe mango, lemon balm and hints of lemon grass. Mouthfeel is round, oily bitter, slightly boozy and medium to full bodied. Finish is slightly sweet, bitter and fruity with peaches, unripe mango, grapefruit juice, pine, resin and alcohol. Very good but this bottle was 6 months old. Would imagine it to be even better fresh.

Bottle @ home. Hazy, tangerine orange appearance with a small, off-white head. Quite fruity (mango, peach, grapefruit, lemon), a touch bitter, sweet malty aroma. Quite delicious, mango/grapefruity, citrusy, a touch bready, slight fusel alcohol, thick flavor. A touch syrupy, thick, sticky mouth feel with a fair amount of booziness. A bit over the top for me, as I didn’t like the booze, the mouth feel, or the head, but it is a fairly tasty brew.
