Bottle thanks to Desverger. It pours cloudy dark brown with medium beige head. The nose is rich, smoked, earthy, toasty, bacon frazzled, roasted malt and cocoa. The taste is rich, oily, rich roast, good hit of smoke, bitter - sweet, alcohol warmth, toffee, charred wood, pepper, leather and tar with a lingering bitter - smokey finish. Fulsome body and moderate carbonation. Oily mouth -feel. Good depth. Decent beer.

Black color with a fine tan head. Peat, coffee and roasted aroma. Medium (+) body and a soft carbonation. Ok balance between sweetness and bitterness. Peat, bacon, coffee and roasted flavor. Not my cup of impy. Quite boring if you ask me. Well masked alcohol.

33cl bottle from Systembolaget. Poured black with a thin brown head, small bubbles. Light smoke, licorice, sweetness, chocolate in aroma. Fairly sweet flavor, smooth mouthfeel. Licorice, dark fruits, tobacco. Roasted malty, long finish. Enjoyable.

On tap at Monk’s Cafe, Philadelphia. A very dark brown beer topped by a dense, dark tan head. Smoke, tar, roasted malts and coffee notes in the aroma. The flavor is quite sweet, with some alcohol, molasses, coffee, smoke and tar. It’s full-bodied, smooth and lightly warming on the palate, with a lasting finish. Sure a nice one, but it’s too much on the smoked, tarred side of dark for me. 150622

Bottle. Pours a dark amber brown color with a small off-white head. Has a slightly roasted malty spicy caramel and dark fruit aroma. Roasted malty spicy caramel and dark fruit flavor. Has a roasted malty caramel, chocolate and dark fruit finish.
