Apparent pumpkin beer, but with actual pumpkin instead of the usual pumpkin pie spices as in American style pumpkin ale. Creamy, loosely structured, yellowish white head over a misty peach blonde beer. Aroma of indeed pumpkin flesh but in a ’zucchini’ kind of way, lime zest, starfruit, green apple, dough, lemon peel, white bread; softly sourish flavour, cucumber more than actual pumpkin but I guess it could be described as courgette-like as well; thin mouthfeel, bit simple texture, lightly bready, bit minerally, finishing with continuing vegetable sourishness along with a very, very light grassy hop bitterishness somewhere far away. Weird and clearly not an American style pumpkin ale at all, but I could still enjoy it more or less.

Thanks to Alengrin! 330 ml. bottle sampled. Hazy orange, little white head. Nose is heavily milky, too heavy yeast, overly sweet & sugary with vegetable pumpkin notes. Taste is odd unpleasant sour milk with milky yeast, strong paper taste, strong vegetable quality, lightly sour in a bad way, milky yeast & lightly watery. Unpleasant. This one looks like another case of Belgian brewers not understanding why USA craft beer is popular, people like pumpkin beers because they taste like cloves & cinnamon, they are sweet & candy-like. This taste like actual vegetable pumpkin plus it is a pretty bad beer on top. Even if the base was good, why would anyone want a beer that would actually taste like vegetable pumpkin?

25/VII/15 - 33cl bottle @ Trillium tasting, home - BB: 15/I/16 (2015-979) Thanks to Alengrin for sharing the bottle!
Little cloudy orange beer, small irregular off-white head, little stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: fruity, orange peel, malty. MF: ok carbon, medium to light body. Taste: bit sweet, malty, some caramel, sourish touch, pretty bitter. Aftertaste: spicy touch, bit sugary, watery, yeasty touch, sweet, bit boring but correctly brewed. Wouldn't expect anything less from De Proef. ;-)

Bottled at Petalax Beer Festival. Cloudy deep golden, small head. Sugary canned pineapple aroma. Very sweet with medium body and rounded mouthfeel. Sweaty canned pineapple, syrup and ripe fruit. Low bitterness. Sweet and generic.

Small off-white head, fast gone over faintly hazed orange beer. Spicy-vegetable nose, dough. Again faintly spicy, very lightly peppery over a dull-sweet background. Bit earthy, Faint, fine surrounding acidity helped by the CO². Light to medium bodied, light slickness. Oh well. In my experience pumpkin is more fermentable matter than a flavour plus.

Hazy dark blond colour. Light earthy, yeasty aroma. Flavour is quite bland. Seems like a standard yeasty Belgian blond. Watery mouthfeel.
