330 ml. bottle @ home. Obtained in the big Israeli trade. Briefly met the contact brewer during the said trade as well. If I am not mistaken this is a scaled up version of a homebrew of him. His face is portrayed on the label. Very minor gusher. Pours a dark fruit amber brown with at first big tanned head that fizzes away. Nose is sweet red fruit jam smell with a light sour edge to it, still lots of very sweet red fruits jam & light coca-cola sticky boozy nature. Very fizzy beer. Fizzy character interferes with the taste, thick leaves, liquorish, bark, quite a bit of coca-cola, lightly sour, odd BE-style off forest note, sticky boozy nature, sweet prunes, sour-ish syrup de Liège, sticky sweet & sour bark / prunes, light thick cardboard in the finish. Prickling body, dry thick cardboard finish. Didn’t feel really right too me. Too bad.

Bottle, small stable light beige head, very dark brown and quite opaque, aroma of manure, rum, and some nutty hints in the back, flavour of dark bitter sweet chocolate, cola and raisins and some cherry liquor, a bit of alcohol showing through but still quite smooth, the bitter sweet chocolate pleasantly dominating the aftertase. A good effort that is very nice to sip.

Bottle. Murky brown color with no head. Aroma of malt, some roastiness, chocolate, nuts, caramel notes and a bit of dark fruits. Sweet flavor, somewhat roasty, with caramel, chocolate, fruity notes and a slightly drier finish. Medium-bodied but completely flat and lacks some carbonation. Roastier and fruitier than traditional Doppelbocks. Quite decent.
