Draught @ Bourgogne des Flandres, Bruges. Pours clear mahogany, small off-white head atop. Lovely sweet dubbel.. promenent candy rock toffee, quite a pokey dark toffee sweetness, conjuring up further swirls of dark dried fruit, rye bread, brown bread and light woody suggestions. Really quite nice.

Tap at the brewery. It pours clear chestnut brown with a fluffy white head. The aroma is brown bread, malt loaf, dried fruits, raisin, sultana, cola and bread & butter pudding. The taste is smooth, bitter - sweet, toasty brown sugars, brown bread, malt loaf, dried fruits, raisin, sultana, marzipan, custard, creme brulé, warming booze, ryvita and wood with a fruity finale. Medium body and soft, fluffy carbonation. Easy found and rounded dubbel.
deep broen red from draft. A bit too much of a,weird malt edge in this one. sour.

Tap at the pub. Hazy dark brown with a high, airy head. Nose of chocolate, banana, citrus, apples, caramel. Malty, sweet and rich, with apples, chocolate, banana. Slightly reminiscent of a weizenbock. Interesting. Spicy, slightly peppery finish. Lightly tart.

One of the six beers at the brewery on my tasting tray, 16th May 2018. Hazy brown body, lightly tanned foam on top. malty molasses and plums rule the nose, taste is malty sweet, again with a plum fruitiness. Nice.
