We harp on all the time about how much we love the old school here at Polly's whilst simultaneously embracing the new school. It comes as no surprise then that we noticed we had an absolute load of old school C hops in our cold store and a gap in our brew plans over New Year. A fiendish plot came to fruition when we created The Weekend Radio; a five C-hop showcase of everything old school, featuring heavyweights Citra, Columbus, Centennial, Chinook and Cascade, all wrapped up in our new school fermentation techniques. The result is an IPA packed to the nines with strong citrus notes, but maximum drinkability and softness.

Can. Slightly hazy yellowish golden colour with a mediumsized foamy white head, which leaves some lace. Aroma is pineapple, tropical fruits, some mild biscuity and bready tones with mild oats as well. Flavour is pineapple, tropical fruits, some mango and a bit oaty and biscuity tones too. Not that much bitterness. Quite mediocre.

Darught keg at the Real Ale Classroom, Stoneygate, Leicester. Orange/gold and impenetrably hazy with a small white head. Aroma of apricot, melon, tangerine. Taste is sweet at first, loads of tropical fruit and melon, with an intense bitterness in the finish. More apricot in the aftertaste. Medium carbonation. An intense IPA with many layers to it.

Can online from Sophie's Beer Store. Pours a cloudy yellow colour with a medium sized bubbly white head. Aromas of orange, pine and light tropical notes. Taste is more upfront juicy orange, pine, spicy notes, hints of weed and light amounts of citrus pithy bitterness on the finish. Light to medium body with a fairly lively zingy mouthfeel. Overall another fine fresh tasting beer from Polly's.
