Aurelian Lure is barrel-aged wild ale re-fermented with apricots.
We barrel-aged beer brewed with well water, Texas grain, and a blend of fresh and aged hops for about a year in neutral oak. We then created a blend and added fresh, hand-processed apricots at a ratio of four pounds per gallon. The result is a highly aromatic beer bursting with fresh, tangy apricot flavor. We hope you enjoy the return of one of our favorite fruit beers we make at Jester King.

Bottle shared during the first Late Nite session of RBWG 2015. Pours hazy, pale yellow with a fading white foam head. Nice whispy lemon aroma, light lactic notes. Sharp acidity in the flavor, some peach notes, perhaps apricot, tart lemons. Light bodied with fine to average carbonation. Cleansing acidity on the finish as well, some cutting lemon juice, a bit of pale dough, melon and peach. Very nice.

Blend-2. Enjoyed @ 40F in a snifter split 2 ways @ home. Thanks to my buddy in texas who keeps bringing these sours to me in exchange for VT bottles I have sitting around.
A - This is a light yellow to gold color, fizzy head that faded fast, just a little bit of cloudiness.
S - Pear, apple and a lot of sulphur / rotten egg aroma.
T - Taste is very sour. Pretty intense. Sulphur, apricot at the middle and finish. Very acidic, sour candies, lemon and yeasty finish.
M - Thin mouthfeel, like 7-up or sprite or maybe seltzer water
O - man, these thin very acidic american wild ales are really wearing on me.I need to just drink Lambic pretty much as all I drink. This is just way too tart.

Bottle. Nose of apricot, vanilla, yogurt, just a touch of vinegar. Pale salmon-orange-golden color with lace. Tart apricot flavor, yogurt, nice level of acidity. Would love to try this next to a Foufoune. Much less acidic, plus more lactic and very drinkable. Great.

Bottle received in trade. Thank you Jeffrey! Pours vibrant hazy pale orange with a rather small frothy white head that doesn’t leave much trace on the glass while dissipating. Smell is sour and fruity with heavy apricots, yuzu juice hay, dry soil, lemongrass, lemon zest, apricot skins, yoghurt, minerals and subtle hints of barnyard. Taste is sour and fruity with crackers, heavy apricots, yuzu juice, lemon juice, hay, dry soil, horse blanket, lemon zest and leather. Mouthfeel is crisp, dry, tart, mouth-puckering and light bodied. Finish is sour and fruity with crackers, heavy apricots, lemon juice, hay, dry soil, lemon zest and horse blanket. Tastes like fresh and vintage Fou’Foune at the same time. Huge apricot tastiness with a prominent complex acidity. Very good...

375mL bottle, pours a cloudy opaque pale orange with a small bubbly white head. Aroma of loads of fresh apricot jam, not much else - probably the most apricoty I've ever smelled in a beer. Flavour is similar, bringing out loads of pure fresh apricot jam, more apricot jam, and more... Probably the most apricoty beer I've ever had. Very intense on the dried fruit. Quite complex, with loads of depth, but it's rather one-dimensional. Good, but I expected more.
