Aurelian Lure is barrel-aged wild ale re-fermented with apricots.
We barrel-aged beer brewed with well water, Texas grain, and a blend of fresh and aged hops for about a year in neutral oak. We then created a blend and added fresh, hand-processed apricots at a ratio of four pounds per gallon. The result is a highly aromatic beer bursting with fresh, tangy apricot flavor. We hope you enjoy the return of one of our favorite fruit beers we make at Jester King.

@ ACBF 2015. Pale yellow colour, notes of vinegar, lemon and kiwi. Very tart but also fruity. Didn’t detect any apricots.

[2/13/15] Bottle sample at Almanac & Friends Sourfest at Public House in San Francisco. Hazy shiny yellow. Lovely apricot aroma with some oak, a lactic note and a funky touch. Sour flavor with apricot. Medium-bodied. Great stuff.

75cl bottle sample @ ACBF 2015.

No head left, white white coloured beer. Very subtle fruitaroma (peach or apricot, but also Chardonnay or white Priorat wine). Immensel luring aroma, yet quite held back. Sour, and again a tumble of unknown, exotic fruit. Some spice in the finish, hints at vanilla and lime. Bit undercarbonated, not disturbingly. Medium bodied, mild acidburn. Again a truly impressive beer by JK.

Sampled 500 ml. bottle @ ACBF 2015. Hazy peach golden, little white head. Nose is huge lactic apricot, light peach, fruit has a very lactic Jester King profile,… Taste is nicely sour & mineral apricot, fruit is quite lactic, lightly puckering but still distinct fruit profile, has that mineral, lightly salty profile of the current wild Jester King line-up, lightly puckering,… Body is sparkling, mineral, fruity,… Quite impressive,…. (Thanks for sharing people!!!)

Clear pale watery coloured beer, with a thin copper coloured shine to it, very weird. Small to no head. Aroma: funky, sourish, overripe fruits, rotting leafs, earthy. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: very sourish, vinegar like acidity, bit off, weird. Aftertaste: sourish, lemon juice, a bit off.

Bottle: Light yellow/golden color with a small white head. Nose is zest, tart, and faintly fruity. Pretty sour taste, but it goes along with a great use of fruit. A ripe peach skin flavor that I really like… wait, wait its apricot! Nice balance a use of flavor with the heavy sourness. Like cheesecake, a small pour goes a long way. Badass. Thanks Rich.
