The Piper is our special release West Coast IPA. Brew process by Kai, brewed by Eden, kegged by Darcy and recipe by Frank. It’s our ‘amongst ourselves collaboration brew’ and hoppiest beer we Ponies ever made, but so super smooth that we pretty much drank the first keg ‘amongst ourselves’. Gorgeously gold in colour with steady carbonation. Aroma and flavour full of fresh hops and is strong on grapefruit, pineapple, apricot and plum, pineapple also shining through with dank pine notes from the dry hop. Very refreshing and unbelievably moreish hides alcohol dangerously well. Full bodied with a dry finish and lingering bitterness on the back palate.

Can. Hazy amber with almost white head. Caramel, bread crust, flowery hops, pine, grapefruit, orange, biscuits. Just medium sweet and solid bitter. Over medium thick oily body. Quite OK.

Aromas of pine needles, honey, plum and biscuit. It's big aroma that is belied by a slightly lighter than expected mouthfeel. The resinous hop flavour does coat the tongue, however, leaving a long lasting grapefruit and honey flavour

330ml can at the Beer Bank, Kuala Lumpur. Poured a hazy medium amber colour with a lasting frothy white head and some broken lace. The aroma is light caramel malt, zesty tropical citrus hops. The flavour is moderate bitter, light sweet, with a smooth, rich, fruity, slightly oily, resinous, light floral, hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation.

Can. Slightly unclear amber with a modest white head. Aroma of sticky bread crust, pine, grapefruit, some weeds - maybe West Coast means lots of Cascade here. Only just medium bodied. Not all that sweet. Maybe there are some subtle tropical notes too or maybe there's just a little pause before the substantial whack of bitterness kicks in. Either way it works well and suggests judiciousness in the hopping of this one.

Pint on tap at Club Rivers, Riverwood. Golden honey colour with a foamy white head. Slight haze. High fine carbonation. Earthy woody nose with some light fruit present. It's lightly carbonated and refreshing. Leaves good lacing. Super easy-drinking with an initial lightly bitter woody finish. Hard to believe this is over 7%! Later on becomes more grassy and earthy with lots of peppery hops.
