Algerian standard pale lager, made by an apparently relatively new brewery (February 2018) located in the Kabylia region in nothern Algeria; apparently established as a collaboration of Belgian and local Algerian entrepreneurs and also operating as a beer wholesaler. Thanks to tderoeck for sharing this ‘country tick’, as this is indeed my first Algerian beer. Snow white, medium thick, mousy, lacing head, near-clear straw blonde robe with pale golden hue. Aroma of wet grass, soggy breakfast cereals, canned corn, melting rubber or plastic. Neutral onset except for the blandest sweet graininess, medium carbonation, thin and slick corn sweet grainy middle with a faint grassy bitterish hop accent in the finish (unexpectedly, to be frank); plastic- and corn-like effects however dominate. Empty, poor and feeling very industrial, but I guess this is about as much as one can expect from a decidedly non-beery country.

19/X/19 - 25cl bottle from a colleague, shared @ Wim VL's Stoofvlees Tasting, BB: 16/III/20 - (2019-1751) Thanks to Kathelyne for the bottle!

Clear blond beer, big creamy white head, unstable, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: cardboard, cow fodder, grains. MF: soft carbon, medium to light body. Taste: very malty, grains, hay, cow fodder, rather bitter. Aftertaste: pretty bad, oxidized, not very pleasant. Well, at least I got Algeria ticked off now. ;-)
