White Oak is an equal blend of two beers. A wheat-wine aged in Bourbon barrels (we call it "White Oak Sap") and our Belgian-style Golden Strong Ale (Mischief) join each other in a delicate dance of flavor and character before we package the final product. White Oak showcases vivid caramel, coconut and vanilla flavors blanketed in a crisp yet robust wheat ale. A true exercise of balance.

Sample at Sour&Bitter Copenhagen. Looks good in the glass , deep golden, small head. Starts strong, some woody hints, modest sweet with fruity notes of peaches. Well balanced finish, strong, still modest sweet. Nice beer!

9th January 2010 Hazy amber beer. Thick frothy white head. Sourish and sherbetty orange nose. Light palate, quite dry and a little frothy. Orange liquer, somewhat Grand Marnier like and well blended with dry wheaty spice and some black pepper. Finishes with more orange liquer and a little bitterness in the aftertaste.3.6.

Re-rate 7/27/12: Bottle sample at the Shapiro brewery in Bet Shemesh. Thanks Itzik. Slightly hazy golden with a big white head. Funky and fruity aroma with oak, vanilla and brett. Sweetish flavor with malt, fruits, a bit of bourbon, wood, funky notes, light sourness, vanilla and alcohol. Medium-bodied. 8/3/6/3/13=3.2

Bottle thanks to someone who escapes me at the moment, but thanks! Pours a clear orangish gold with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of of sweet grains with hints of light fruit and underlying vanilla and bourbon. Flavor has a good amount of sweet grains with a backing bourbon note and a hint of sweet light fruit. Alcohol note is a bit heavy in the finish.

Sample @ the Sour & Bitter event in Copenhagen. Pours very hazy golden with a small creamy white head that slowly dissipates while leaving some trace and lacing on the glass. Smell is very sweet with wood, orange zest, plums, dry soil, tangerines, barnyard and hints of caramel. Taste is sweet, bitter and floral with plums, candi sugar, orange peal, orange zest, dusty barnyard,dry soil, biscuits and flower nectar. Mouthfeel is sticky sweet, very tiny tart and medium bodied. Finish is sweet and spicy with tangerines, white pepper, hay and lemon zest.

Capped 750 from Beverages 4 Less in Santee, CA. Fred’s ever the guy! Pours dishwater gold with a creamy bubbly white head. Smell’s like graveyard more than barnyard! Kinda phenolic. Underlying sour. Not quite sweatsox. There’s a lot of different things in the aroma. Med + body. Flavor is barnyard, then phenolic, with some citrus. And there’s always this underlying caramel sweetness. Then some oak and astringency. Vanilla. It’s a struggle, but I think I get coconut. This is dry and very, very towards barnyard. The alcohol sort of makes my head swim, but it’s hardly detectable otherwise - just blends into the flavors. Wow.

Pours a crystal clear golden color with a huge bone white head and a steady stream of carb bubbles rising from the depths. Smells of spicy wheat, yeasty phenols, a bit of oak and bourbon with a hint of fruity sour sweetness. This tastes much better than it smells. Dark fruity sugary sweetness up front. Lots of berries and caramel followed by a bit of barrel oak, vanilla and a touch of alcohol. There’s a spicy earthy sweetness that turns into a long lingering heat in the finish. Medium to full body with a spirited level of carbonation and a bubbly sugary mouthfeel. I liked this one, but the carbonation might be a bit high and the alcohol is still a bit too present. Too bad I don’t have another of these as it would be interesting to see how this ages.

Bottle @ Armin’s house, thanks to Doodler. Grazie Scott! Hazy golden appearance with a white head. Fairly boozy, orange citrusy, vanilla, oaky, caramel aroma. The flavor is very strong and boozy with notes of oak, dark caramel, vanilla, oak, and citrus fruits. This fucker is strong- too bad.

Thanks to Doodler for sharing - highly cloudy gold - moderate head - aroma is booze, oak, coconut, vanilla, peach, apple - flavor is fairly sweet up front, then dries out, bringing wood notes and extreme booziness/alcohol - it burns! - a lot of coconut and a little bit of apple - messy as fuck.
