Bomber sample @ Zwanze 2014, ML Fontainas, thanks Matthieu. Un beau clin d’œil à la première guerre, vraiment superbe étiquette. Brune foncée, col beige. Arôme est houblonné, léger rétro nasal frais de Cascade aux effluves d’agrumes, fleuri et subtilement épicé. Un malté plus subtile arrive en retrait et apporte une belle balance. Palais est malté caramel, amertume modérée aux notes houblonnées côte ouest. Cascade bien présent apportant sa dose de fraîcheur, malt grillé presque torréfié. Amertume conserve sa part de fruité portant sur les agrumes. Fini est sec sur une toute fine pointe de chocolaté amer.

Thanks to Charlie! Sampled 650 ml. bomber @ Italian Beer Week-end / Zwanze 2014 CML. Lovely label. Black, creamy mocha head; Huge grapefruit USA hops nose mixed with mocha. Bitter grapefruit USA hops, light pine taste mixed with chocolate milk, creamy mocha, grass, roast, chocolate. Lightly fizzy body. Both sides seem to cancel each other out a bit rather than complement but never the less a very enjoyable beer.

Bottle. Pours black with big foamy tan head. Nose/taste of toasted crackers, toasted chocolate, bitter coffee, dry resin, grapefruit pith and burnt grass. Medium body.

Sample at Great Taste of the Midwest on 08/09/2014: Brownish-black color with a medium beige head that diminishes steadily to a film. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate and hops. Light to medium body with flavors of burnt malt, dark chocolate and piney hops. The finish is smoky with a malt aftertaste. Pretty good overall.
