This hop harvest, the seasoned big-city brewers from Seattle’s Elysian Brewing made the trek over the Cascades to team up with the farm kids from Bale Breaker Brewing Company to brew Citra® Slicker Wet Hop IPA, the new Yakima brewery’s first collaboration beer. While it took Elysian brewers Dick and Steve two hours to get to Bale Breaker, the hundreds of pounds of wet Citra® hops picked fresh from the fields that morning traveled just five minutes from farm to kettle. Heavily dry-hopped with Mosaic™ and Equinox™ while light in color and body, this beer is all about these fresh, farm-grown hops!

Bright gold, no head, solid lychee ish citra expression, sweet pale malt, moderate, excellent and in particular the wet citra is about as good as citra gets.

On tap at Bale Breaker - Seattle, pours a clear pale copper golden with a small white head. Aroma has some dank, oniony hops, fresh doughy malt, and a touch of grassy pine. Flavour has Citra I can get behind, with fresh grassiness, pine, doughy malt, and very faint onion. Nice use of the fresh Citra. Very good.

On tap at Bale Breaker / Yonder taproom. Pours clear light gold with a white head. Fresh grass and gentle onion on the nose. Flavour has a soft allium character, dank oils, good malt base. Very solid.

Golden color. Candied tangerines, citrus, weed over a semi sweet crackery malt back bone. Super crisp, not overly bitter, the hop character shine with a resiny mouth feel. The wet hops add this really nice mouthfeel. Wow. Excellent

On tap at Daanen’s Deli. Aroma is extremely juicy citrus, pine less so. Slightly hazy golden with a white head; laces fairly well. Taste is sweet and citrusy, savory; very light bitterness. Carbonation is fairly soft, body is medium. Fantastic. Is it insane that I’m thinking of Pliny right now? That’s the closest thing I can think of right now to describe this.
