An American Pale Ale / Saison hybrid. It’s brewed with a big portion of Spelt malt as well as raw wheat and oats. For the hops, we have tried to keep the bitterness right down while maintaining a big US hop presence. So hops (Chinook and Cascade) have only been added to the whirlpool and as dry hops. The yeast is a new dry Belgian yeast on the market made by the homebrew suppliers from Mangrove Jack’s.

Tap at Mikkeller Bangkok. Poured a hazy straw colour with a thin white head and a little broken lace. The aroma is zesty citrus yeast. The flavour is medium bitter with an earthy, light aspirin, dry spice hop bitter palate and a long bitter finish. Medium bodied with average carbonation. A little detached from your average saison, but I loved the hoppy qualities. A really great beer. Best served cool. The flavour still finds a way through.

Growler. Gold with a white head. Aroma of mandarins, sourdough, grapefruit, pepper. Quite full-bodied for 5%, wouldn’t have minded a little less body. Sweet oranges, spicy grain, some nectarines, a little tartness that could be bready or grapefruit, dry at the end with pepper and cloves. Good stuff.
