Bottled. An unclear pale brown beer with a lazing tan head. The aroma has notes of malt, wood, wine, caramel, and some lacto. The flavor is sweet and acidic with notes of wood, brettanomyces, wine, caramel, and malt, leading to a tart finish.

June 2009: Cloudy amber with a big and lasting off-white head. Strong aroma of oak, giving me both coconut and wine. Dry and tart oak flavour, rather vineous. Very American in it’s character.

Borefts Festival 2010: Has developed more brett character, more funk, and a touch of popcorn. Tart cherries in the flavour

75cl bottle from the Alvinne brewery shop. Orangey red colour with thin lasting off white head. Flemish red sour ale aroma. which is remarkably attractive. A touch of the wine, but almost sour cherry like. Touch of wood on the aroma too. That’s one good smelling beer. A little sweeter than a full on sour, which I guess comes from the wine. Certainly this beautiful wild cherry/red wine aroma/flavour comes through. It really is very good indeed. Just the right level of wild yeast character gives it a biting sourness on the finish, but wonderfully balanced by some very juicy light red fruits. Ridiculously drinkable. Good condition in mouth, the right level of carbonation, a little soft, not harsh, but enough to tingle the tongue. As a vinous Flemish sour, it really is remarkably good.

Bottled from de Molen. Hazy brownish color, short head. Aroma is vinous, some vanilla, bit malt, bit fruity. Sour taste, fruity. Didnt know it was only 5.5%, was expecting a heavy bomber, as they are usually double barrel oak brewers reserve stuff :P

Bottle. Amber color. Vinous aroma with vanilla, grapes and cherry. Light sour flavor with grapes, vanilla, just a touch of oak and toffee. Vinous notes. First rate thirst quencher, but not as complex and sour as I thought it would be.
