Karuizawa Kogen Beer is a sub-brand of Yo Ho that we virtually never see in Kansai. I got this winter beer from the brewery in a New Year’s set. Karuizawa Kogen Beer White IPA 6% This is their 2018 winter seasonal that is a pale straw gold with a soapy eggshell white head that left behind very little lacing. The aroma is a white pepper spice and sweet tart Citra (?) like somewhat dank character. Medium to light bodied it has a taste similar to the nose that is spicy and semi-sweet and very crushable but in a drink it and forget it way.

very carbonated light golden color. Doesn’t look overly appealing. Loose head. Nice sharp tangerine wheat and white grape fruit nose. Fairly bitter with a slightly wheat lingering in the finish along with tons of bitterness. Simple. Par for the course from them. Got better as it warmed so upped the score a notch.
