Bottle(ale)Pours a very pretty hazy red with a tall off white head. Aroma is very strong but pleasant. Apples and pear with a hint of cinnamon. Lovely. First sip reveals some initial sweetness again in the vain of an apple cider, but breaks with some really good and fresh tasting hops. This beer screams fresh to me. The hops are very in your face and make this extremely refreshing. Drinkabliity is through the roof. An amazing ale from a brewer I need to get to know!

Angenehm! Bottled. Amber colour, huge beige head. Aroma is hops, malts, fruits and also some earthyness. Some mild spices and yeast is noteable too. Flavour is quite much the same. A rather nice and wellbalanced brew.

Bottle. Clear light to medium amber orange color with a huge, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is light malty, roasted, moderate to heavy yeasty, barnyard, peppery. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average duration. Body is light to medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft, to much carbonation. (250208)

ZBF2008: From bottle. Pours dark brown with a little dense light brown head. Aroma is spiced malty. Flavour is quite dry, light spice flavour which grows towards the finish. Goes into a light herbal end.

Bottle. Nice fruity, sweet brown sugar aroma. Dark malt aroma. Seemingly clear dark brown colour. Big stable light brown head. Nice flavour of roasted malts with sweet hoppiness. Thin mouthfeel, but still a nice beer.

Bottle: Poured a light brown with an orange hazy to it, the head was offwhite. So carbonated it looked like old faithful when I opened it, there was beer everywhere. The aroma is sweet full of fruit and sugar. Wow the taste is very hoppy, it subsides to leave this sweet malt.

Hazy amber color; creamy head. Aroma of Belgian ale, hops and spicy, a bit like Orval. Medium body structure, dry malt flavor and caramel, bold bitterness, very spicy, leaving that kind of astringency and metal feeling similar to an Orval. Strong carbonation. Very good.

Bottled (BB 08/2008)
Amber color, big cloudy off-white head. Sour, spelt-like nose. Carbonated mouthfeel. Dry, woody flavor. Aftertaste is dry grassy hoppy with touch of alcohol. A bit yeasty. Not very good, a bit "too handcrafted".

Draught Very white, fine head, gone fast; clear pale chestnut beer. Very little nose, a bit of caramel. Extremey discreet ale, typical "Spéciale Belge", but more in the Palm, than in the De Koninck way. More’s the pity. Retronasal a bit of greenery (parsley?), caramalt. Light bodied, discreet slickness. A wee bit disappointing. I keep thinking that microbrewers ought to strive for taste impact, rather than concurrencing the big ones...
