Dark: This classic beer style was first brewed by monks in the Middle Ages in order to fortify themselves during their fasting. A generous amount of malt goes into every bottle of smooth, rich Taybeh Dark Beer. Brewed in small batches in German traditional style using roasted malted barley, hops, yeast, and pure water creating a classic quality rare brew initially produced to celebrate Christmas 2000 at the turn of the century.

Bottle from DSG, thanks! Deep dark brown color, pours a big head. Caramel, roast, coffee and milk chocolate in the aroma. Malt, chocolate and roast in the flavor. Almost medium bodied, but still with a cream and cacao mouthfeel. Liked it!

330ml bottle. Pours black with a very thin beige head. Aroma is coffee, roasted malt. milk. Taste is light sweet, coffee, chocolate. To me it’s more of a sweet stout.

Bottle at Walled Off Hotel, Bethlehem. Meh, a bit rough around the edges but not too bad.

Bottle from Inn At Home, Guildford. A dark coffee aroma with yeastie lager tones underneath. Dark and dkossy. Thick creamy off-white head. As per aroma, initially bitter with a shot of coffee. Then an almost synthetic sweetness comes through. Light-medium bodied. Thin but wuth some slickness. Average carb. An astringent edge to the finish. For me it's almost a coffee stout/lager hybrid. Too much of the latter. But better than expected.

Flaska drucken på Talita Kum, Beit Jala. Hade inte förväntat mig så mycket rostade smaker, känns inte så tysk kanske men ganska trevlig. Mörkt bröd, fudge, choklad i bra balans. En lätt brödkryddig beska. Ok.
