Our flagship Porter, Eugene, was aged for an additional 36 weeks in Woodford Reserve Bourbon barrels. The lengthy wood-aging imparts lovely barrel character- esp. vanilla notes that blend harmoniously with the caramel and chocolate flavors present in the base beer. A nice brew with which to finish a long day.

Bottle sampled @ RBBWG IV. Personal contribution. Obtained in a trade with AdamJackson. Dark brown, blackish, little mocha head; Nose is bourbon, thick, vanilla, lots, candy sugar, unfortunately a bit sour. Taste is light odd bitter herbal taste leading into bourbon, vanilla, cold coffee, sweet finish is slightly tart sadly, light red berries sour. Body could be thicker. Seems off sadly, still tastes pretty nicely.

Clear dark brown to black beer, small creamy beige head, unstable, falls down fast, non adhesive. Aroma: wow, very sweet, lots of vanilla, bourbon, sugary caramel. MF: ok carbon, medium to full body. Taste: little sour, lots of bourbon, alcohol, vanilla, caramel, more alcohol, sourish touch, sugary. Aftertaste: sweet, caramel, lots of vanilla, dried fruits, crème brûlée, sugary, cocoa powder. Nice stuff, though weird enough the alcohol stands out in this one.

Bottle thanks to Matt. Pours a dark brown with medium creamy tan head that lasts. The aroma is a strong chocolate and roast. Medium mouthfeel with nice sweet roast, raisin, dark chocolate, hides alcoholw well, very impressive.

Bomber received as extra in trade. Thank you rfraga7! Pours murky blackish brown with a frothy and slightly fizzy dark mocha head that quickly dissipates without leaving much trace on the glass. Smell is sweet, malty and slightly boozy with roasted malts, vanilla fudge, charred wood, toffee, sweet liquorice candy, shredded coconut, molasses, soil, sweet dark bread and hints of chocolate, coffee and raisins. Taste is sweet, tiny bitter, malty with heavily roasted malts, brown sugar sweetened dark roast coffee, vanilla fudge, charred wood, sweet dark bread, oatmeal cookies, mineral water, bitter chocolate, roasted coconut, orange zest and hay. Mouthfeel is spritzy, round, tiny roasted astringent, tiny boozy and near full bodied. Finish is tiny sweet, bitter and malty with roasted malts, charred wood, vanilla fudge, dark roast coffee, bitter chocolate, minerals, soil, orange zest and burnt toast. Very high and aggressive carbonation which both adds to and ruins the beer. Interesting and quite tasty.

Bottle at the great AZ driveway tasting as I’m calling it. Anyways this was pretty awesome. Pours dark brown. tastes of lovely amounts of coffee, chocolate, roasted malts, bourbon and vanilla. None of these are overpowering and work together just lovely. creamy with nice mouthfeel quite drinkable.

THANKS ADAM! Bomber, fresh from the brewery in an HFS glass at cellar temp (60F) Pours dark black, minimal head that fades fast. As a huge fan of woodford reserve, this smells fantastic! I love the charred oak and vanilla. Insanely great! muted vanilla, cocoa beans and a slight hershey’s chocolate syrup finish. I had Eugene earlier (the non BA version) and this is worlds better. I love the carbonation. It’s just nice!
