4.3%  part of the 800 yen sampler at Numazu Taproom. Cask.  A nice mellow auburn color with a beige filmy head. The nose is malty, nutty, caramel not really sweet. Low carbonation but velvety mouthfeel with a nutty, bitter, earthy taste. Really easy drinking stuff, this is a true cask ale, you really get a sense of this being a living ale. Nice but the lack of overt carbonation & being served fairly close to room temperature means people who aren’t familiar with cask ales may be thrown for a loop.

Moderately hopped, earthy, rounded, light vert enjoyable and balanced. Definitely one of the better bitters on handpump from Baird.
